Appreciating the One Who "Does It All"
We recently heard an inspiring story from Jane Johnson about a restaurant employee who “did it all” when she stopped in after a day of working in the hot sun.
I can’t really say that this employee was a server, because she was literally doing EVERYTHING in the place that day!
As Jane tells the story:
“I've been building handicap ramps with Habitat for Humanity for 22 years. On Friday, August 13, we had a tear-down on one of the 90-degree days.
After working we went to Charlie's Bar and Restaurant for lunch. We were hot, tired, dirty, and hungry. Charlie's had ONE person working as hostess, waitress, cashier, bartender, and cook! Her name was Amanda. She was the most wonderful, courteous, efficient, smiling, hard-working, and fun person...and made our lunch the greatest 'event' of that day.
I returned a few days later and presented her with the HCC appreciation card and $50...and received her surprised and warm smile and a big hug.“
What a great story!
It’s a blessing when we get the opportunity to show people who go “all-out” for us how much we appreciate them.
There are still We Appreciate You cards with $50 bills attached to them available for you to share the love of Jesus with the people who make a difference in your day.
So be ready.
